How old are you when you started playing kalimba?:
I am 17 years old when I started to play kalimba.
How did you learn to play kalimba? Did you have a teacher?:
I learned to play kalimba by watching kalimba tutorials on YouTube.
What inspired you to learn how to play the kalimba?:
I was inspired to play kalimba because when I saw the covers of Ms. Karina Javier on YouTube I realized that it can be used to give praise to our Lord. So since then I dreamed of actually having it so just last year I had it and then I really persevered to study it and play beautiful songs using it.
What was the first piece you learned?:
The first piece that I learn is the Kiss the Rain with basic tabs without glissando from Simple Kalimba.
How many instruments do you play and what are they?:
I only play Kalimba.
Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?:
In playing kalimba I really admire Ms Karina Javier because she is very good at it and also I really appreciate that she uses her talent to please God.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?:
Aside from playing kalimba, I also enjoy gardening.
If you could give someone learning the kalimba a piece of advice that helped you the most, what would it be?:
Be patient, there are times that the song you want to cover is hard to learn but so and I know you can do it. So, keep that passion in you're heart and enjoy learning.
