  I was 20 years old.

• How did you learn to play kalimba? Did you have a teacher?:

  I learned it by myself.

• What inspired you to learn how to play the kalimba?:

  The therapeutic sound itself inspired me to play it.

• What was the first piece you learned?:

  I guess it was "You are my sunshine".

• How many instruments do you play and what are they?:

  I can also play the piano, guitar, ukulele, flute, tongue drum and lyre harp.

• Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?:

  In Kalimba-playing, I admire April Yang the most because she has this wide knowledge and unique style in arranging music.

• Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?:

  I love exploring new outdoor places with beautiful sceneries.

• If you could give someone learning the kalimba a piece of advice that helped you the most, what would it be?:

  Do not be distracted by the progress of others. Learn at your own pace, take it easy. Nobody has ever played an instrument just a snap without indulging much of their time practicing and rehearsing. 🙂
