“Buddy Holly” is a song by the American rock band Weezer, released in 1994 as the second single from their debut album, commonly known as the “Blue Album.” Written by lead vocalist Rivers Cuomo, the song references 1950s rock-and-roll singer Buddy Holly and actress Mary Tyler Moore. It achieved significant success, reaching number two on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and number 12 on the UK Singles Chart.

Lyrics:

What’s with these homies dissin’ my girl? Why do they gotta front? What did we ever do to these guysThat made them so violent?
but you know I’m yours(Woo-hoo) and I know you’re mine(Woo-hoo) and that’s for all time
Ooh-wee-ooh, I look just like Buddy HollyOh, oh, and you’re Mary Tyler MooreI don’t care what they say about us anywayI don’t care about that
Don’t you ever fear, I’m always nearI know that you need helpYour tongue is twisted, your eyes are slitYou need a guardian
and you know I’m yours(Woo-hoo) and I know you’re mine(Woo-hoo) and that’s for all time
Ooh-wee-ooh, I look just like Buddy HollyOh, oh, and you’re Mary Tyler MooreI don’t care what they say about us anywayI don’t care about thatI don’t care about that
