You hear this music when you meet Link’s grandma after getting the Master Sword. She’s gotten sick, thinking you abandoned her, and that music plays—a soft, gentle piano melody that just twists your gut. Her theme was already touching, but the sad version? Man, it takes all the warmth and love from the original and turns it into pure melancholy. It perfectly captures that feeling of seeing someone you love suffering and not being able to do anything about it. Then, when you give her the fairy and she gets better, that relief hits so differently after hearing that heartbreaking tune.
