• How old are you when you started playing kalimba?:

  I was 13 when I started playing kalimba and on January 31 I am turning 15:>>

• How did you learn to play kalimba? Did you have a teacher?:

  No, I don't have any teacher, I just learn how to play kalimba by watching tutorials on YouTube, and sometimes I ask my kalimba friends especially in tuning.

• What inspired you to learn how to play the kalimba?:

  When the pandemic started I want to have a piano, but we can't afford it, and I was trying to find inexpensive piano but instead, I find a keyboard I saw kalimba and the description says "thumb piano" so I decided to check it out because the original price is 1000 plus but I get it on 600. I grab the opportunity to buy kalimba because of their similarities in piano.

• What was the first piece you learned?:

  Passengers-Let Her Go. The tabs are from Pai C, it is super easy. I am not familiar with this song but I love the melody so I decided to memorize the tabs.

• How many instruments do you play and what are they?:

  Four instruments. Kalimba, piano, guitar, and piano. I am not professional in playing them all especially guitar, I learn 2 or 3 songs and I have a hard time changing the chords. And the piano, I am not professional in playing them either. I always have a hard time finishing a song because I don't have time to practice because of my studies. And I am just a beginner in ukulele.

• Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?:

  Hillsongs. I admire them because they always give me the energy and vibe to reduce my stress. They always give me a deep relationship with God through songs. They inspire me.

• Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?:

  Yes, a lot. When I have free time I always read Wattpad stories, I also love helping my parents sell some street foods so that I can earn money since my allowance stopped when the pandemic started. I am also interested in watching movies. I loved watching movies because it is the only thing that suits my time.

• If you could give someone learning the kalimba a piece of advice that helped you the most, what would it be?:

  Don't Give Up. When I am just a beginner I experienced lost of circumstances and I felt that I want to give up and I am thankful that I am still here playing and enjoying the satisfaction that music provides.
