Iconic song from an iconic band. “Have you ever seen the rain” is part of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s 1972 album Pendulum. John Fogerty wrote it at a time when he was sensing the band was on the verge of breakup and, in fact, John’s brother Tom would leave CCR before the album came out.

Someone told me long ago
561°63°1°1°
There’s a calm before the storm
(5°5)(5°5)
I know
55°5°5°4°4°3°3°
And it’s been comin’ for some time
561°63°1°1°
When it’s over, so they say
561°63°1°1°
It’ll rain a sunny day
(5°5)(5°5)
I know
5°5°5°4°4°3°
Shinin’ down like water
(6°6)(5°5)(3°3)(5°5)3°2°
I want to know,
3°4°5°5°5°1°1°
have you ever seen the rain?
(6°6)(5°5)(3°3)(5°5)3°2°
I want to know,
3°4°5°5°5°1°1°
have you ever seen the rain?
61°1°553°2°2°
Comin’ down on a sunny day?
561°63°1°1°
Yesterday, and days before
561°63°1°1°
Sun is cold and rain is hard
(5°5)(5°5)
I know
5°5°5°4°4°3°
‘Been that way for all my time
561°63°1°1°
Till forever, on it goes
561°63°1°1°
Through the circle, fast and slow
(5°5)(5°5)
I know
55°5°5°4°4°3°
And it can’t stop, I wonder
(6°6)(5°5)(3°3)(5°5)3°2°
I want to know,
3°4°5°5°5°1°1°
have you ever seen the rain?
(6°6)(5°5)(3°3)(5°5)3°2°
I want to know,
3°4°5°5°5°1°1°
have you ever seen the rain?
61°1°553°2°2°
Comin’ down on a sunny day?
