• How old are you when you started playing kalimba?:

  I started playing kalimba way back August 2020 and I was 19 years old that time.

• How did you learn to play kalimba? Did you have a teacher?:

  I learned how to play kalimba first by using an app call Keylimba. From there , I started watching kalimba players online and I tried to learn from each one of them.

• What inspired you to learn how to play the kalimba?:

  Before, I tried playing a guitar but the guitar doesn't like me. What inspires me to play kalimba is the sweet sound it produces and how easy it is to learn.

• What was the first piece you learned?:

  The first song that I played using my kalimba is Gurenge from Demon Slayer season 1.

• How many instruments do you play and what are they?:

  I tried playing guitar and flute when I was in highschool and now I only play kalimba... so yeah a total of 3.

• Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?:

  Joe Hisaishi. He is a japanese and he compose songs for several Ghibli movies. I admire him a lot because his music calms me down and inspires me.

• Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?:

  Yes , a lot. I do journaling , drawing and painting , crochet , origami , cross stitch , diamond painting, watching anime, painting my nails, making DIYs and air dry clay.

• If you could give someone learning the kalimba a piece of advice that helped you the most, what would it be?:

  Don't give up easily and make sure that you are familiar to the song you are playing. That way memorizing tabs will be much easier. Don't stress out and trust the process.
