  15 yrs. old

• How did you learn to play kalimba? Did you have a teacher?:

  self-learning and i use youtube to learn playing kalimba.

• What inspired you to learn how to play the kalimba?:

  Back then, i was scrolling and watching videos on YouTube and then YouTube recommended the kalimba cover of April Yang. So that was the time that I got interested to play kalimba. I save money and bought my first kalimba on Lazada <3

• What was the first piece you learned?:

  Close to you by Carpenters

• How many instruments do you play and what are they?:

  I play 5 intsruments. Kalimba, Keyboard, Guitar, Ukulele and Lyre.

• Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?:

  Beethoven and Yiruma, because they are so talented and they piece are so impressive. Beethoven’s music is all the more amazing because he wrote so much of it when he was almost or totally deaf. And also Yiruma's music compositions have such a profound depth and meaning to them that strikes one's feelings. His playing style is gentle and melodic, creating feelings that might be nostalgia and/or sadness.

• Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?:

  Yes, photography.

• If you could give someone learning the kalimba a piece of advice that helped you the most, what would it be?:

  Don't give easily give up, just keep on trying. Some day you'll be good at playing it.
