They say home is not just a place, it could be a person but for me, kalimba is my home. In tagalog ‘home’ is ‘tahanan’ from the root word ‘tahan’ ( to calm down) a place where you rest your heart. That is kalimba for me.
For a decade and half I was trying to find my talent or skill. I’m not a good dancer or a singer, I can’t draw, sketch, paint. I remember my young self crying in the middle of night and doubting herself because she can do nothing.
I deserve to be one of the five lucky winners because kalimba is not just an instrument for me, it’s the reason why I sleep at night without a heavy heart. As I’ve said it is my ‘home’ and you will only feel the calmness in your home.
Everytime I play kalimba even just pressing random notes, i feel safe and happy. Thank you so much for hosting this giveaway and giving us opportunity to play kalimba.
