Iconic Scottish patriotic song celebrating King Robert the Bruce’s
victory at Bannockburn in 1314. The lyrics were written by Robert Burns
in 1793 to an older tune called “Hey Tuttie Tatie”. According to
tradition, “Hey Tuttie Tatie” goes back to the Middle Ages and was
played by the Scottish army at Bannockburn .
NOTE ON THE ARRANGEMENT: The cover below is a brutal simplification of
the Gleadhill arrangement of 1880. You have two options. 1) Play it as
written. 2) Replace the first line with 4 44 24 57 and retune your
Kalimba as follows: B==B flat and E°==E° flat.
