The Coronavirus pandemic has been a phenomenon like no other that humanity has ever encountered this 21st century. It has changed the world from various aspects including the wonderful realm of music. Despite of that, music fulfilled and still is fulfilling its purpose—to give comfort and to entertain. At this trying times, people get to appreciate its existence even more. With that, many people decided to spent their quarantine time in studying different musical instruments at home with their family.
One of the aforementioned instruments is the Kalimba. For a background, Kalimba was originated from Africa. It is also known as thumb piano because it has similarity to the traditional piano that we commonly see. When we pluck its metal tine with our thumb it vibrates and resonates inside the sound box. Even though Kalimba is kind of tiny, it has its distinct structure that many people fell in love with. For the reason that, it has the capacity to produce beautiful melodies that creates chill and nostalgic atmosphere.
As a conclusion, I believe that God is always one step ahead. He used those people behind the Kalimba for He knew that we will need it during this unprecedented situation. Musical instruments such as Kalimba indeed heals those who are suffering from anxiety and redirects those who are losing hope that all of this will soon end. For now, let us enjoy learning the Kalimba and encourage others to start learning it too. Together, let us spread positivity through it.
